New York Mets tickets are going to be popular once again in 2019. The squad aims to build upon the success they had in 2015, when they made a World Series appearance for the first time in 15 years, and only the second time in the last 30 years. The Mets have a nice blend of youth and veteran experience, and they head into the season expecting to do big things in the National League East Division.
Free-agent additions in the off-season include power-hitting third baseman Todd Frazier. The 32-year-old is near the end of the prime of his career, but ha can certainly help take some of the offensive load off of the shoulders of outfielder Yoenis Cespedes. It is totally realistic that the duo could combine for 60+ home runs, which would likely add up to a lot of wins and put the Mets in a position to make the postseason once again.
But, as anybody who knows baseball will tell you – it's all about pitching. The Mets arguably have the single strongest starting squad in all of the National League, led by Noah Syndergaard and Jacob DeGrom. Syndergaard is entering his fourth year in the majors after his 2017 campaign was cut drastically short due to an injury. He is ready to bounce back and have a full and successful year, and he has compiled a career mark of 25-18 and a career ERA of 2.94. These are seriously solid numbers, which give the Mets an excellent chance to win a game every time he takes the hill.
Same goes for DeGrom, who is entering his fifth season in the majors and his fifth in New York. His career numbers are 46-32, and an ERA of 2.96. To have two starters at the top of the rotation that could both easily be #1 starters on just about any team in baseball is a pretty big advantage. It puts the offense in a position where they don't have to be world beaters in order to get victories, but rather just have good quality at-bats and do their jobs.
Citi Field is a large, architecturally marvelous and very comfortable place to watch a professional baseball game. It opened in the spring of 2009 with a capacity of nearly 42,000. When standing-room-only Mets tickets are sold, the capacity can swell to over 45,000. The record attendance at the venue was 45,186, during the 2013 All-Star Game. Now is the right time to have a look at the 2018 Mets Schedule to pick out some Mets Tickets that will work perfectly for you.
